Drop-In Day Care and After School Center 910-319-7879 Open 7:45 am - 6:00 pm M-F (We are no longer open on Saturdays. )
Flexibility for parents, FUN for kids
Porter's Neck Play House is a drop in play center that cares for children 6 months and older on a drop in, no reservation required basis. We have recently upgraded to an after school center also, with the addition of a 15 passenger bus to transport from schools in the Porter's Neck/OgdenWe offer monthly packages at a greater savings that allow convenient options for busy families.
Some parents need a little help when running errands, some have regularly scheduled weekly commitments and others just need time to relax and re-energize to be the optimal parent. No matter what your part-time child-free needs are, we are here to help. We are not like any other drop in play centers. Instead we are quaint, family run, hands on and above all we always put children first, knowing that each child comes with his/her own individual needs.
State law requires a 10-1 adult to child ratio, but we try hard to keep this at an 8-1 ratio. If you visit our facility you will feel at home in an instant and immediately realize that we are always catering to the children in our center. Their well being and growth are important and we take pride in the friendships that they foster here.
Daily schedules involve lots of free play as well as adult guided activities. There are many games and hands on exploration involved (ex: building volcanos, making home made snow, mixing our own paint colors, making play doh or a solar system or Mardi Gras masks). We love dancing, relay races, art, puzzles, story time and an occasional movie or educational show. No matter what time of day you stop in your child will have a great time! Promise.
Schools we currently pick up from: Blair Elementary, Ogden Elementary, Eaton Elementary. Jenkins Preschool Academy, LCOR Preschool, Seacoast Christian Preschool.
“You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation.” ― Plato
“This is the real secret of life -- to be completely engaged with what you are doing in the here and now. And instead of calling it work, realize it is play.” ― Alan W. Watts
